An eleven months old baby has burnt to death in a suspected arson attack in Zombo district.

The deceased identified as Pimar Pamungu Pretty reportedly burnt to death at around midday yesterday in Amogi cell, Padea town council in Zombo District.

Josephine Angucia the West Nile Region Public Relations Officer says that Jennifer Ayunga (20), the mother of the deceased, went to a nearby valley to look for vegetables leaving her two young children aged 4 years and 11 months behind.

Angucia says that the youngest, now the deceased, was sleeping inside their grass thatched house.

While in the valley, Ayunga heard an alarm being made from the direction of her house, prompting her to run back home only to find a crowd including her husband had gathered in the compound and their house was on fire.

She later discovered that her baby had burnt beyond recognition in the hut.
