20,000 Acholi households trained on malnutrition prevention

A total of 20,000 households in Acholi Sub region have been trained on how to prevent malnutrition, one of the silent killers of children.

The households were trained from January to date by ‘Love One International’, a Christian medical NGO that supports the fight against malnutrition in the eight districts of Acholi Sub region.

Albert Bwire, the Program Manager ‘Love One international’ says that the training involved aspects such as kitchen gardening, cooking nutritious food, sanitation, positive parenting, gender based violence and health care among others.

This comes at a time when there is a growing number of children in the sub-region suffering from malnutrition.

Statistics from ‘Love One international’ show that over 300 acutely malnourished children were rehabilitated since January at the organization’s centre in Gulu city.
