
At least 28 top-performing Primary Leaving Examination candidates in Lamwo have been awarded scholastic materials as they prepare to join secondary schools.
The awards, presented at Padibe Town Council grounds, are part of a long-standing initiative by Acora Nancy Odonga, the Lamwo District Woman Member of Parliament aims at encouraging academic excellence and supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Since 2021, Acora has recognized top PLE achievers across the district, with a total of 174 students benefiting so far.
Acora has also announced plans to sponsor the top five Senior Six students of 2025 to university once results are released.
Among the awardees was Abol Ludia, who scored an aggregate of 7 at Cubu Parents Primary School and emerged as the district’s best student.
She expresses excitement and motivation to continue excelling in her education journey.
Obalim Richard Omo, the LC III Chairperson of Padibe Town Council, says investing in education is the only way of uplifting families and communities.
He further praises the initiative and praised the Acora as a role model to all leaders within Lamwo and Acholi sub region.
The District Chairman, represented by Odur Justine Peace, the Secretary for Production, Marketing, and Natural Resources, also lauds the MP for her commitment.
The initiative comes at a time when education stakeholders in Lamwo are calling for increased support to help children complete primary education and smoothly transition to secondary schools.
