On the other hand, Charles Okema, the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party secretary for Lakang Sub-County in Amuru District, is counting losses after unknown individuals torched his house.
The incident occurred around midnight yesterday in Ucipi B Village, Bana Parish, Lakang Sub-County.
Okema told our reporter that five of his children, who were sleeping in the house at the time, escaped unharmed, but properties worth over 600,000 shillings were destroyed.
Okema suspects the attack was intended to intimidate him and deter his support for Denis Rom, the FDC LCV flag bearer for Amuru District.
Rom is contesting the election alongside six other candidates, including Christopher Odongkara (NRM), Francis Otim (DP), Richard Odokonyero (NUP), and independent candidates Denis Opio Atwom, David Oceng, Alex Penytoo, and Tony Kilama.
A case of arson has been reported to Lakang Police Station under SD REF 12/22/1/2026.
Alfred Baluku, the Amuru District Police Commander, says investigations are underway.
