Police investigates stabbing of 19-year-old man along Cemetery Road

The police in Aswa West are investigating a case of alleged murder by stabbing of a 19-year-old man by a chapatti maker which occurred along Cemetery Road, Laroo-Pece Division in Gulu City.

The incident occurred yesterday around 04:30am.

ASP David Ongom Mudong, the police Spokesperson for Aswa West identifies the deceased as Ayella Bismark, a resident of Pece Cubu, Laroo-Pece Division in Gulu city.

Allegations indicate that a fight broke out between a group of street children and the chapatti maker along Cemetery Road after the street children failed to pay enough money for the chapatis.

Ayella was then stabbed to death by the chapati maker during the fight.

This act however provoked other street children who mobilized themselves and stormed the business premises of chapati makers along Cemetery Road and began beating up all chapatti makers, neighbours and onlookers.

They also vandalized some shops, robbed people and set some kiosks ablaze.

Mudong says a case of murder by stabbing was registered under Gulu CPS CRB 104/2026 and a fire brigade which was dispersed to the scene extinguished the fire.

One suspect has been arrested to help Police with investigations as more inquiries into this incident continue.

Other suspects are still at large.
