Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has asked candidates from Kotido Army Primary School in Kotido Municipality to appear and defend their performance in the 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
The examining body withheld results for 45 candidates on suspicion of external assistance during the exams, while only 17 pupils received their results.
In a letter dated 14th February 2026, addressed to the head teacher, Simon Tito Elanyu, UNEB directed the pupils and the invigilators to report on Friday next week specifically to defend their performance in Mathematics.
Some parents of affected pupils have expressed frustration over the situation.
Beatrice Auma questioned how results for some candidates are released while others remain withheld, noting the financial burden it places on families.
Elanyu says that during a meeting, parents of the affected candidates agreed to contribute UGX 100,000 per pupil to cover transport to and from Kampala.
This comes shortly after the Ministry of Education announced dates for Senior One and Senior Five admissions, intensifying the urgency for the affected pupils to resolve the matter in time.
