Samuel Oyet Agwani, the Assistant Manager at Oding youth skilling center in Unyama Sub county, Gulu district says that former students of the center are expected to start accessing their SACCO funds in March.
The former students of the center formed SACCO groups per district, municipality and city last year.
Each of the SACCOs were then given 50 million shillings by President Yoweri Museveni to support them with startup capital for buying the necessary equipment.
Agwani explains that there was a delay in the students accessing the funds because of some procedures such as election of SACCO leaders.
He however says that the process was recently completed and that the SACCO leaders who are five per district, were also trained on how to access and disburse the funds using the Wendy app.
Agwani says the SACCOs will be supervised by the commercial officers of the districts, city and municipalities.
A total of 1,200 youths from Acholi sub region have been trained at Oding since it was established five years ago.
