
Amuru Town Council is set to receive a new Piped Water system for the Town Council residents.
Micheal Lakony the Amuru district LC5 Chairperson confirms this development in an interview with our reporter.
Lakony notes that Piped Water system will be constructed by government through the Ministry of Water and Environment.
He reveals that a technical team from the Ministry of Water and Environment will meet with the district leadership tomorrow to finalize on the design and the plan for the Construction of the Piped Water system
Lakony adds that they will also form the Water Source Committee to help manage the Water Systems on behalf of the Community.
He continues that Water system will be connected in Public schools in Otwee and other places like Public Market.
The Construction of Piped Water system is also expected to create hundreds of employment Opportunities for the people of Amuru.
Safe water Coverage in Amuru district currently stands at 82 percent according to statistics from Amuru district Water Supply Atlas.
