Property worth millions of shillings was last night destroyed at Motherland Nursery and Primary school located in layibi Center, in Pece-Laroo division.
Ambrose Onoria, the Gulu Resident City Commissioner said in an interview that the Police Fire department responded on time and saved another building from catching fire.
Onoria who visited the school says all the Pupils were safely evacuated without any major injuries with the exception of few people who got very minor injuries.
Onoria also reveals that a few items like Mattresses and books were destroyed by the fire but no major incident was recorded.
Onoria appeals to school Management to always have fire extinguishers and safety plans in case of fire outbreaks.
The cause of the fire is believed to have been a short Circuit in the building.
