Gulu’s Patiko Sub-County Sets New Academic Performance Targets

Patiko Sub County in Gulu district has drawn measures to enable them achieve their target of scoring 10 first grades for each of the ten schools in the Sub County.

The Sub County scored 11 first grades in the 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).

Patrick Komakech, the LC III Chairperson for Patiko Sub County says they have already began engaging parents to promote and support the school feeding program in a bid to enhance concentration in the classroom.

Komakech says they are also engaging head teachers to sign performance agreements with targets and engaging in constant school meetings with parents to contribute necessary requirements for their children.

He says each of the Sub County councilors have been assigned to a particular school which they will monitor.

Komakech adds that the councilors are expected to report any challenges faced by the schools such that they are addressed early.

Other measures the Sub County is putting in place include; motivating the best performing teachers in PLE besides motivating the best performing candidates who are given scholastic materials as they join secondary schools.
