Nwoya district is expecting to spend an estimate of 31.4 billion shillings in the 2026/2027 financial year.

According to the approved budget, the largest part of the budget (about 28.7 billion shillings) will come from central Government transfers and government condition transfers.

Other government transfers amounting to 1.4 billion shillings are expected to contribute to the budget.

The district is targeting to collect 1 billion shillings in local revenue, according to Betty Atim, the secretary Finance, Planning, Administration and Investment.

Meanwhile, 59 % of the budget (about 18.8 billion shillings) will go into paying wages of staff while non-wage has been allocated 7.1 billion shillings.

Development activities in the district will on the other hand consume 16.9 % of the budget.
