A woman and her child have died on the spot after a truck trailer crashed into their house in Luwero district along Kampala -Gulu yesterday morning.
The horrific tragedy, occasioned by a tailer truck registration numbers SSD 908A and SSD 909A, occurred at 5:00am at Ngogolo village in Butuntumula sub county, Luwero district along Kampala -Gulu highway.
Sam Twiineamazima the Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson explains that the killer truck was traveling from Gulu towards Kampala and upon reaching Ngogolo village, the rear trailer detached, veered off the road and crashed into the building killing two people and injured two others inside.
The trailer crashed into the building when the family members were still in the bed sleeping during the time of the incident.
The deceased have been identified as 38 year old Annet Nandhose and her daughter; three year old Doreen Nakkazi.
The injured have been identified as Samuel Kigwe the husband to the deceased and Jovan Kalule a teenager.
Twiineamazima says the truck has been towed to Luwero Police Station pending inspection by the Inspector of Vehicles (IOV) as part of investigations into the accident.
