
Cwero Health Centre III has been named the best Health Centre in Gulu district in terms of performance by the district health team during a health review meeting that was held yesterday at the Gulu district council hall.
According to the health report presented by Yoweri Idiba, the assistant District Health Officer for Gulu district, Cwero Health Centre III ranked number one with 85%, Awach Health Centre IV ranked second with 85%.
Omel Health Centre III ranked third with 85% and Patiko Health Centre III was in fourth position with 73%.
Meanwhile, the last three Health Centres in performance were; Te-Ato Health Centre II with 55%, Pukony Health Centre II with 54% and Pugwinyi Health Centre III with 47%.
Idiba urges the best performing Health Centres to keep up the good work while the worse performing ones are urged to pull up their socks.
Atimango Emily, a nurse at Cwero Health Centre III who represented the in charge of the facility says they are performing well due to the desire for quality work including quality management of all their data at the facility.
Meanwhile at Awach Health Centre IV, Kolong Patrick, a Health Worker representing the facility says they made it to the top because they have a unique approach for handling the patients especially pregnant mothers and children.
Gulu district currently has nine Health Centre II’s, six Health Centre III’s and one Health Centre IV totaling to 16 Health Centres in the district.
