NWSC Highlights Rising Need for Reliable Water Supply in Gulu

National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NW&SC) in Gulu city says it has registered an increase in demand for piped water from residents.

The corporation currently serves 13,000 customers whose demand for water stands at about 14 million liters per day from a previous 7-10 million liters in 2023 and 2024.

Ivan Tekakwo, the National Water and Sewerage Corporation Public Relations Officer in Gulu City says that 10 million liters of the water supply is pumped from Karuma while 4 million liters is pumped from Oitino dam.

Tekakwo attributes the high demand for pipe water to the growing population and development such as construction in Gulu city.

He explains that the growing demand for piped water is too reliable supply following the completion of the Karuma supply line.
