Police in Wantoni have arrested a 30-year-old man suspected of murdering his former girlfriend in a fit of rage, maiming her body before dumping it.
The suspect, Ochedde Charles a resident of Katosi Town Council in Mukono District, was arrested following a tip-off from a friend who spotted him in the area.
He is accused of killing 32 year old Nakyeyune Rachael in October 2024 at Gulama in Buikwe District.
According to police, Ochedde and Nakyeyune had been in a relationship that turned sour.
On the fateful day, a misunderstanding escalated when Nakyeyune refused to publicly introduce Ochedde as her lover, which he said annoyed him.
In a chilling confession at Wantoni Police Station, Ochedde reportedly admitted to beating Nakyeyune until she died.
He then allegedly cut out her tongue, dumped her body, and fled the scene.
The body was later recovered and taken to hospital, where her death was confirmed.
Police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and Ochedde will be arraigned in court to face murder charges.
