Gulu District NRM Chairman Dismisses Claim of Leadership Fallout

The NRM Chairperson for Gulu District has dismissed a fallout in the NRM party leadership following a viral message on social media platforms claiming otherwise.

The viral message which began circulating yesterday cited a leadership fallout within the NRM party claiming that the District Executive Committee (DEC) has resolved to fire its Chairperson and Administrator.

The message accuses DEC members of meeting at the NRM office in Awach Town Council from where they resolved to remove Ocen Christopher, the Chairperson and Cana Brian, the Administrator from office on grounds of locking the party office.

However, Christopher Ocen, the NRM party chairman for Gulu District urges the general public to disregard the information as false claims and baseless allegations.

In his press statement, Ocen points to the NRM Constitution and Code of Conduct which clearly stipulates the party Chairperson at the district level as the only person mandated to convene or delegate meetings.

He explains that any meeting organized without the knowledge or approval of the Chairperson is null and void.

David Ngole, the Gulu District NRM Publicity Secretary in has promised to consult members before he gives a detailed communication regarding the matter.
