A new Chief Administrative officer (CAO) has been posted to Nwoya district local government.
Richard Madete who has been posted from Nabilatuk district local government replaces Janepher Nantume Egunyu who was interdicted recently over abuse of office and theft of money worth 20.6 million shillings.
Egunyu and two other people reportedly established an illegal animal market in Lungulu Sub County.
Geoffrey Axuma, the Nwoya District Information Officer confirms the deployment of Madete.
Axuma says Madete’s appointment was communicated in a letter by Ben Kumamanya, the permanent secretary at the ministry of local government dated 6th of May 2026.
Christopher Omara, the Nwoya Resident District Commissioner (RDC) says the new CAO reported to duty yesterday.
