Police Hunt for Suspects After Baby Girl Dumped in Apac School Pit Latrine

Meanwhile, Police in Apac are also hunting for suspects in the dumping of an eight months old baby girl in a pit latrine at Apac Pride Nursery and Primary School in Temogo A Cell, Arocha Division, Apac Municipality.

Patrick Jimmy Okema, the North Kyoga police spokesperson confirms the incident that happened at 3:30 am yesterday.

Okema says that the baby girl was discovered by the school watchman, Brian Eling who heard persistent cries from the toilet.

Eling immediately informed police who rushed to the scene and retrieved the baby from the pit latrine with the help of the North Kyoga Police Fire and Rescue Services.

According to Okema, the victim was rushed to Apac Main Hospital where she is currently receiving medical attention and care.

The police spokesperson says that the identity of the child’s parents or guardians had not yet been established and that no suspect had been arrested but that investigations are ongoing.

He says a case of attempted murder has been registered adding that police suspects it is connected to domestic violence or child neglect.

Okema condemns the acts of child neglect and violence against children and urge members of the public to always seek lawful and humane means of resolving domestic or family-related challenges.
