
The Police in Oyam District have launched investigation into suspected murder by mob which occurred yesterday at 05:am at Adwar cell-Amolo ward in Minakulu Town Council Oyam District.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga Police Public relations officer confirms this incident saying the deceased has been identified as 31 year old Ambrose Olanya a resident of the same place.
It’s alleged that yeaterday at about 10:36 pm, at Minakulu Town Council, police received information from Richard Okello the LClll chairman about a murder by mob action at Adwar cell Omolo ward in Minakulu Town Council.
Okema says Immediately the police led by IP Roimoi Terence responded and established that the Deceased is Olanya Ambrose a known cattle thief within the area.
He says that last night at about midnight a group of residents in that area followed Olanya Ambrose who was in the company of other three men in the bush near the home of Owani Peter were got skinning a goat which is suspected to have been stolen and beat Olanya to death
The LC1 chairman Dennis Ojok upon receiving the information rushed to the scene but found Olanya already helpless.
Okema says a case of murder by Mob was reported at Minakulu Town Council Police station and investigation into the matter has begun, Crime Scene was visited, processed and documented by Soco.
Deceased body conveyed to Anyeke HC IV mortuary pending postmortem examination.
No arrest has been made yet, but efforts to have them apprehended is ongoing.
