Desks turned into beds at Palaro SS

Desks have been turned to beds at Palaro secondary school located in Palaro Sub County, Gulu district.

Komakech Michael, the Councilor V representing Palaro Sub County says students have put desks together and spread their mattresses on them to act as beds.

Komakech says he investigated and discovered that the roof of the dormitory leaks which will worsen when the rains resume.

He urges the school management to consider shifting the students to a safer room.

Komakech also advises students to spread their mattresses on the floor because it is improper for them to sleep on top of desks meant for reading and lesson purposes.

He adds that it seems management has become so familiar with the school citing the lack of proper learning, and disagreements among teachers.

Komakech advices that the school management should be transferred to other schools and a new team be brought in for management to enable the school grow.

According to Komakech, the money meant to develop Palaro seed secondary school has been mismanaged on several occasions and up to now the school construction has not yet been completed.

Atim Harriet Oyet, the District Education Officer for Gulu district says she will send the inspection team to the school immediately for possible management.

Palaro secondary school has 320 students.
