Three Suspects arrested for Vandalizing Guard rails along Gulu-Kitgum road

Police in Gulu have arrested three people in connection with the vandalism of guard rails put along Gulu-Kitgum road.

According to Press statement issued by Ministry of Works and Transport on their Official X page, a total of 50 stolen guardrails components were recovered from these suspects who reportedly use adjustable spanners to unfasten guardrail connections.

The most affected parts are between Abera bridge in Unyama sub-county and Aswa River Bridge in Paicho sub-county, Gulu district.

The suspects reportedly committed these crimes between the 27th and 29 of last month.

The three suspects are currently in Police custody in Gulu as investigations continue in order to establish the extent of the damage and the cost.

Most of these guard rails are normally stolen and sold to scrap dealers who later sell them to factories for recycling.
