Teen Cranes Crowned 2026 CECAFA U-17 Women’s Champions

Uganda’s U-17 Women’s National Team, the Teen Cranes have been crowned champions of the 2026 CECAFA U-17 Women’s Championship after defeating hosts Tanzania 3-0 in the final to complete a remarkable unbeaten campaign.

The victory saw Uganda finish the tournament with an outstanding record of five wins from five matches, 26 goals scored, and no goals conceded, underlining the team’s dominance in the regional competition.

Justine Ayerango opened the scoring in the 38th minute before Brenda Nassaka doubled Uganda’s lead four minutes later.

Flavia Yagala added the third goal shortly after the restart in the 47th minute as the Teen Cranes comfortably overcame the hosts to lift the trophy.

Head Coach Sheryl Ulanda Botes praises her players for their discipline and determination, describing the title as a reward for months of hard work and preparation.

Moses Magogo, the FUFA President congratulates the players and technical team for bringing glory to the country, saying the achievement reflects the federation’s commitment to youth football development.
