Hon. Catherine Lamwaka elected New APG Chair

Omoro district Woman Member of Parliament Honorable Catherine Lamwaka has been elected as the new Chairperson of Acholi Parliamentary group [APG]

Hon. Lamwaka is replacing Hon. Anthony Akol, the Kilak-North.

Lamwaka will be deputized by Hon. Otto Edward Makmot ,Agago County MP.

Other Members elected in the Committee include; Hon. Opio Geoffrey [Nwoya County] as the General Secretary.

Hon. Nancy Acora Woman MP Lamwo was elected as the Treasurer.

Hon. Ojok Andrew Oulanya Omoro County MP was elected as Publicity Secretary.

The Election was Chaired by Torchi County Member of Parliament Honorable Okot Peter.

15 Members were physically present at the election and four Members Participated online while 7 Members sent in their apologies.

In an Interview after being elected as the new Chairperson of Acholi Parliamentary group, Lamwaka said that their main agenda as APG is to make sure that they bring great Social-economic transformation in the lives of people of Acholi sub-region.

Lamwaka also called for unity among the leaders so that they achieve their purpose.

She added that their unity will be a Purpose to bring development and change the lives of people of Acholi sub-region adding that Poverty alleviation and wealth creation for the people will be their key agenda in this new term.

Lamwaka says, Education of the Children in Acholi sub-region will also be key in their agenda including all the issues that are coming from various parts of Acholi sub-region.
