The Amuru district Chairperson, Christopher Odongkara in an interview with our reporter says, they met with Officials from the Ministry of Health who approved for the expansion and works at the Health Facility which starts this financial year.

Odongkara adds that some of the major works will include Construction of a laboratory, a new Maternity wing and also construction of a Mortuary.

He continues that this will help in bringing quality health service delivery to the border Population in Bibia and Elegu border post.

He also reveals that they are discussing with Ministry of health so that they can construct a Health center IV in Kilak- Constituency.

It should be noted that, the Ugandan government is actively phasing out Health Centre IIs in a gradual process.

Rather than simply closing them, the Ministry of Health is upgrading hundreds of these facilities into Health Centre IIIs to offer more comprehensive services, such as maternity wards and inpatient care.
