UBF President Warns Unregulated Boxing Promoters Against Illegal Events

Moses Muhangi the Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) president has warned unregulated promoters against organizing boxing sports events across the country.

This follows attempts by Kidega Dragon to organize an Inter-City Match on the 31st of this month which the federation alleges never received a clearance from Uganda Boxing Federation.

Muhangi earlier this month directed the Northern Uganda Boxing Association leadership to identify individual players who will attend the event such that they are subjected to disciplinary action.

Mulindwa Denis, the Northern Uganda Boxing Chairman reminds organizers that under the National Sports Act 2023, the Uganda Boxing Federation, working with the National Council of Sports, is the only entity with a sole mandate of sanctioning boxing events in the country.

Jino Otim, the spokesperson of Northern Uganda Boxing Association says UBF isn’t against any boxing event anywhere across the country urging event organizers to follow the rightful channel for clearance such that the Federation can be held responsible in case any problem occurs.
