13 groups have already been profiled in Omoro district in the beef production drive that Acholi districts launched recently with support from World Bank.
Each of the six districts in Acholi sub region were supposed to profile 30 groups.
The districts are; Omoro, Pader, Agago, Kitgum, Lamwo and Nwoya.
Bingi Patrick, the livestock lead person under Uganda climate Smart Agricultural transmission project for Omoro district says Omoro gas already profiled 13 groups out of the 30 that they were supposed to profile.
Bingi says they are now waiting for the farmers to commit money such that the process of redeeming the inputs takes off immediately.
The program is supporting 450 people per district organized into 30 groups.
Each group consists of 15 members who will co-fund 20% while government will support them with 80% for purchasing improved breeds of cattle.
Farmers under the program will rear the Boran, Saiwal and Brahaman breeds because they are so good and grow within 3 years, enabling farmers to earn quick money.
In total, 69 districts of Uganda are participating in the program.
