Police in Alebtong District are investigating the murder by Mob of a 26-year old man in Ober village, Apala Sub-County.
Patrick Jimmy Okema, the North Kyoga Police spokesperson identifies the deceased as Tobias Okello.
It’s alleged that the deceased waylaid one Alobo John while was approaching his home in Ober village, Olayolong parish and beat him to comma under unclear circumstances at 10:00pm yesterday.
Alobo was rushed to Apala Health Center HC3 for treatment.
Okema says that the deceased who was known in the area, was pursued by residents who assaulted and hacked him several times on the head using a sharp object until he became unconscious.
Okema explains that police, who were informed, rushed to the scene, took Okello to Apala health center IV where he later succumbed to his injuries at around 4:30pm.
He says police is now investigating a case of murder by Mob and that statements have been recorded from witnesses.
