Authorities in Bardege-Layibi Division, Gulu city say they are working to address the water crisis in Paminano ward by connecting it to National Water and Sewerage Corporation.
Located about 3kms from Gulu City center, Paminano is one of the wards that was annexed to Gulu City in 2020.
Kamba Amir, the Deputy Resident City Commissioner in charge Bardege-Layibi division says that they are currently generating a list of names of residents so that pipe water is connected to the area.
Kamba explained that drilling of new boreholes will not be necessary in the ward since its part of the city.
Boreholes are banned in urban centers in Uganda due to high risk of contamination of water sources from latrines which are usually in close proximity.
