Angry Omoro Residents Burn Tricycle Carrying Suspected Stolen Cattle

Angry residents of Amilobo village in Abuga Sub County, Omoro district have set ablaze a tricycle carrying two suspected stolen cattle.

Michael Opira, the Local Council One Chairperson (LC1) of Amilobo village says the tricycle registration number UFS 850Z, blue in colour was set on fire at around 3:00pm on Wednesday after the rider fled leaving behind the cattle and the tricycle.

He says by the time police arrived, all those who participated in the mob action had already left the scene.

Opira says the cattle were later handed to the owner identified only as Moses while police collected necessary statements regarding the incident.

The incident comes barely a week after the theft of six goats in the area which is prevalent with livestock theft.

Moses Enyentu, the O.C station of Abuga says they are now waiting for the owner of the tricycle to come and claim it.

Enyentu says they suspect the residents set the tricycle on fire out of anger after the rider fled the scene.
