RCC directs transfer of teachers

Peter Banya, the deputy Resident City Commissioner for Laroo-Pece division in Gulu City has ordered for the transfer of all teachers who have spent five years and above at Bungatira central primary school.

This follows a revelation that most teachers of Bungatira central primary school have stayed in the school for 16 years, nine years, 10 years, and 19 years among others.

He says when teachers spend so long in a school, they become aquainted with the environment thinking that it is their own home hence taking everything for granted which leads to poor performance of pupils.

Banya has assured the teachers who have stayed in the school from five years and above to get ready because they will be transferred next year.

Apiyo Sarah, the caretaker of the office of the head teacher proposes that all the teachers at the school be transferred and new ones be brought on board because the current teachers are already tired.

She urges parents to cooperate with the new set of teachers who will be coming in and avoid disagreeing with them like they did to her lot.

Gifter Aber, the Mayor of Laroo-Pece division calls for documentation of all teachers who would like to leave Bungatira central primary school including those who have spent less than five years there to avoid putting pupils at a disadvantage.
