Minister Akori Urges Acholi Beneficiaries to Use Cattle Restocking Funds Properly

The State Minister for Northern Uganda Rehabilitation Honorable Beatrice Akello Akori has urged people in Acholi sub-region to use the money being given under Cattle restocking program for the intended purpose. 

Honorable Akori notes that many people who have received the Money in Acholi sub-region have reportedly diverted the use into something else something she says is unacceptable.

Honorable Akori made the remarks recently during the Thanksgiving ceremony for Honorable Ojok Andrew Oulanya from Opit S. S playground in Omoro district. 

Akori says that soon officials from the Office of the Prime Minister and other government agencies will go on the ground to assess how the restocking funds have been used.

She also says, NUSAF 4 Project is soon starting and people in Northern Uganda should be ready to benefit from it.

Speaking recently, Bar-dege-Layibi division Member of Parliament, Honorable Martin Ojara Mapenduzi who is the Chairperson of Parliament Committee on Presidential Affairs said that a total of  80 billion  shillings was budgeted for 16,000 households in Acholi, lango and Teso sub-region. 

Mapenduzi also expresses his disappointment with the beneficiaries of the funds in Acholi sub-region saying that only 27 percent of the people have used the Money to buy cattle.

In Comparison to Lango and Teso sub-region who he says over 50 percent of the beneficiaries bought Cattle for restocking in their household.

He also urges beneficiaries who will benefit from the next payment to buy cattle for restocking and not to divert its use.
