The Gulu District Education Department is planning to turn Awach Primary School into a model school where other schools in the district can learn good educational practices.
According to Harriet Atim Okot, the Gulu District Education Officer, the plan is a priority under the 2026/2027 financial year.
Okot explains that adequate facilities such as classrooms and desks among others will be put in place at the school to ensure a good learning environment.
She says that the school currently has a desk to pupil ratio of 1:5 which is beyond the national average of 1:3.
