Police in Kole district are investigating the murder by assault of a 21-year old man in Obela cell, Akalo Town Council.
The naked body of Jacob Oyugi was discovered today lying in a pool of blood along Kwania-Lira road.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga Region Police Spokesperson says preliminary findings indicate that Oyugi was last seen alive after untying his grandmother’s goats yesterday at around 7:00pm before locking his house and going to unknown place.
Okema says the corpse of Oyugi was discovered at around 6:00am today with serious cuts injuries on his head.
He says the body was picked and taken to Lira Regional Referral hospital mortuary pending a postmortem examination adding that a case of murder has been registered at Akalo Town Council police station.
