Gulu City to Transfer 30 Primary Teachers Ahead of School Reopening

The Gulu City Education department is set to transfer 30 primary school teachers ahead of reopening of schools for the first school term slated for the 2nd of next month.

Richard Irwenyo, the City Education Officer says the teachers are being transferred based on reasons such as ill health for those who want to be near health facilities, over staying in one school and filling gaps in schools where teachers either died or retired.

Irwenyo says the list of teachers being transferred will be made public in a few days.

Gulu City has a total of 744 teachers.

In 2025, the city Education department carried out a massive transfer of teachers especially those who had served in one school for over 10 years.
