Hundreds of parents from across the Teso and neighboring districts are flocking to Adwenyi Primary School, a government-aided Universal Primary Education (UPE) institution, following a historic performance in the 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
Located in Serere District, Adwenyi has become a beacon of academic excellence in a landscape where top grades are often elusive for government-aided schools.
In the results released earlier this month by Janet Museveni, the Education Minister, Adwenyi produced 37 candidates in Division One and 80 in Division Two, out of a class of 117 registered candidates.
This accounted for nearly 30% of the entire district’s first grades.
Glades Adong, a parent who traveled from Acowa sub-county in Kapelebyong District, opted to bring her daughter to Adwenyi after hearing of its remarkable reputation.
Isaiah Eletu, the school’s head teacher says the school has registered 345 new entrants by the start of Term One yesterday including 68 in the Primary Seven class.
This surge has seen the school’s enrolment more than triple since 2019.
