Authorities in Lamwo District have launched a verification and recovery exercise targeting Parish Development Model (PDM) beneficiaries who received funds in the 2022/2023 financial year.
The initiative aims to strengthen accountability and recover any mismanaged public resources under the government’s flagship poverty alleviation program.
It follows a directive from the National PDM Focal Person urging accounting officers, Resident District Commissioners, Chief Administrative Officers, and other officials nationwide to verify records and reclaim funds where necessary.
William Komakech, the Lamwo Resident District Commissioner says district leaders have met with parish SACCO executives to begin the documentation process.
The verification will review beneficiary records, assess repayment under the revolving fund, and confirm that funds were invested in approved income-generating enterprises.
Beneficiaries are urged to cooperate with parish chiefs, SACCO leaders, and district officials.
Those found misusing funds could be asked to refund or face arrest under government regulations.
Chuna Moses Kapolon, the Lamwo Chief Administrative Officer says more than UGX 50 million remains pending final processing and verification before disbursement.
