Church of Uganda Archbishop Calls for Unity in Lango

The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda has called on the people of Lango to Unite for Development.

Rt. Rev. Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu made the call in Alito, Kole District where he was presiding over a memorial service for the former Dokolo Woman MP Late Cecilia Atim Ogwal whom he described as a woman of good reputation.

Basing on Cecilia’s legacy, Archbishop Kazimba argued that a good name is more important than wealth, calling on the people of Lango emulate her and be united.
He warns that people should be conscious about their names saying some people are good at spoiling other people’s reputation.

Senator Margaret Jepkoech Kamar, the former Deputy Speaker of the Senate of Kenya re-echoes Archbishop’s message about protecting the name and loving the country, saying Late Cecilia Ogwal never hated Uganda even though she was in the opposition

Similarly, Professor Celestino Obua, the Chairperson Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) who hails from the Okii-Amat Clan to which Late Cecilia was married implores the current leaders to emulate her, a person who wanted to see good in everyone.
