Security forces in Gulu City have arrested Labeja Martin, a suspected gang member in Kasubi central, following a tip-off from the community.
He was arrested on Wednesday near the airfield for allegedly smoking marijuana with a friend.
Peter Banya, the Deputy City Commissioner in charge of Laroo-Pece Division says Labeja will be investigated and taken to court if evidence of wrongdoing is found.
Banya adds that security in Gulu City aims to ensure the safety of residents.
Irene Ajok, a resident of Kasubi Central expresses concerns about thugs in the area calling for increased security measures.
She also criticizes some parents for supporting their children’s bad behavior.
Last week, police in Gulu City arrested five suspected thugs in Kanyagoga for housebreaking and they are currently in detention.
