Gulu City to Procure Shs1.1 Billion Grader for Street Maintenance

Gulu City Council is set to procure a grader worth 1.1 billion shillings to maintain cleanness on the streets.

Gulu is currently considered one of the cleanest cities in Uganda and is being used for benchmarking by other cities and urban centers.

The grader will also speed up road construction works by the city.

Innocent Ahimbisibwe, the Gulu City town clerk says that the procurement process for the grader has already been done only awaiting fund expected to come from local revenue.

Local revenue collections are however still below target, according to the town clerk.

The city targets to collect 6 billion shillings but has so far collected only 2 billion shillings as of to date.
