The Acholi Cultural Institution “Ker-Kwaro Acholi” is set to celebrate the 60th birthday of the Paramount Chief on the 24th of this month at Kaunda Grounds in Gulu City.
Kenneth Oketta, the Chairman Organizing Committee says the charity birthday celebration, with focus on girl child education in Acholi Sub Region.
Oketta adds that a fundraising dinner will be conducted at Acholi Inn Hotel whose proceeds will be used for the construction of dormitories for girls at Kitgum High school, Padibe girls secondary school and changing rooms for girls at Paibona Primary school in Gulu district.
He says this is a special celebration for the achievements of his royal highness Rwot David Onen Acana II to the community in the areas of peace building, conflict resolution, fostering culture and education.
Oketta urges the public to contribute generously for the noble cause to enhance the education of girls in Acholi sub-region.
