NUP Deputy President Lina Zedriga Granted Bail by Gulu Court

Dr. Lina Zedriga, the National Unity Deputy President in-charge of Northern Uganda has been granted bail by Gulu Chief Magistrate Court.

His Worship Augustine Alule Koma, the Gulu Chief Magistrate in his ruling said Zedriga had presented credible sureties before the Courts.

She is expected to return to court on the 24th of next month.

The Chief Magistrate later granted Zedriga a cash bail of one million shillings while her four sureties a were granted a non-cash bail of 10 million shillings each.

Zedriga is facing charges of inciting violence allegedly committed in December 2025 in Omoro, Nwoya, Amuru and Gulu City in Northern Uganda.

Lewis Rubongoya, the NUP Party Secretary General says they are happy that Zedriga has been released on bail adding that all the charges against Zedriga were meant to cripple NUP’s plan of protecting their votes during the 2026 election.

Rubongoya adds that the regime arrested several NUP leaders in Western and Buganda region such that their votes can be rigged.
