
Police in Obongi district are holding a man identified as Emmanuel Iranya for selling off his brother’s motorcycle.
Adiga Swaib, the owner of the motorcycle UFJ 268T (Bajaj Boxer, red in color) reportedly entrusted the bike to his employee; Anyanzo Kennedy to facilitate transportation at the workplace.
On the 30th of last month, Anyanzo reported that the motorcycle had been stolen from its parking spot, located at the residence of Iranya where Anyanzo and Iranya, the motorcycle owner’s brother sleep.
According to a report by Collins Asea, the North West Nile Region Police Spokesperson, the community pressured Iranya to explain the whereabouts of the motorcycle after suspecting him.
Asea states that during the interrogation, Iranya led the community to one Ismail Mane, who stated that Iranya had sold the motorcycle to him at 250,000 shillings.
Both suspects were immediately and detained at Obongi police station.
Asea says that a dismantled motorcycle was collected as evidence.
