
Police in West Nile region has recruited 6,644 applicants from the two regions of West Nile and North West Nile to serve as Election Special Police constables.
The successful candidates who applied for the post, went through verification of their documents, interviews, and were finally selected to be trained to work as Election Special Police Constables.
West Nile region got a total of 5,144 Election Special Police Constables recruited of which Arua City has 892, Arua district 380, Nebbi 724, Zombo 726, Pakwach 412, Koboko 570, Maracha 546, Madi Okollo 370 and Terego district got 524.
North West Nile region has a total of 1,430 Election Special Police Constables successfully recruited where Moyo has 254, Adjumani 402, Yumbe 726 and Obongi has 118.
Josephine Angucia the Police Spokesperson for West Nile confirms the recruitment and warns the successful recruits not to rely on any list circulated on social media but check from those that have been displayed at all the districts noticeboards.
According to the training schedule, all successful applicants are expected to report to their designated training centres on 07th December 2025 ready to start on 08th December 2025.
Recruits from Arua City and District will undertake training at St Joseph’s College Ombaci in Ayivu East Division, Arua City; those from districts of Terego, Maracha and Koboko will report to Kochi Secondary School in Koboko Municipality, while those from the districts of Madi-okollo, Pakwach, Nebbi, Zombo will report to Kyambogo University Campus in Paidha Town Council, Zombo district.
Meanwhile, Angucia adds that in districts of Yumbe, Obongi, Moyo, and Adjumani, training will be organized within each of the districts and upon completion of the training, trainees will be deployed immediately.
Angucia also warns that police will turn away candidates who report without well-shaven hair or shabby ones.
