Two boys, both aged four years have been discovered dead at a scene of a wild bush fire in Aguny village, Guruguru Sub County in Amuru district.
The deceased have been identified as Deogratius Kizito, a son to George Lawrence Obalo and Daniel Odong, a son to Sunday Komakech, all residents of Gira-Gira village, in Guru-guru sub county.
Their bodies were discovered at 7:00pm yesterday by children searching for wild passion fruits locally known as Oceyo.
According to Patrick Komakech Kibwota, the L.CIII Chairperson of Guru-guru Sub County, the two young boys disappeared from home on February 6th at 10:00am while pretending playing to be herding cattle before being discovered dead about 8kms away in the next village.
Komakech says that the children were last seen alive walking towards Guru-guru Sub County and reportedly made stopovers asking for drinking water before proceeding with their walk.
The chairperson who visited the scene says preliminary investigations indicate that the boys were killed before the bush around them was set ablaze.
Komakech says that police have since picked up the bodies and taken them for postmortem at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital.
