Uganda’s Fauzia Najjemba Heads to U.S. After Signing with Boston Legacy FC

Crested Cranes striker Fauzia Najjemba has completed a move to National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side Boston Legacy FC in the United States.

Najjemba has signed a two-year renewable contract with the newly formed club, which confirmed the signing through its official social media platforms.

The Ugandan international joins Boston Legacy after the expiration of her contract with Russian side Dynamo Moscow, where she recently concluded her stint

She links up with several new signings at the club, including Jorelyn Carabalí, Bárbara Olivieri, Ella Stevens and Alba Cano, among others, as Boston continues to build its squad ahead of its debut NWSL season.

The 2021 FUFA Women Player of the Year becomes the second Ugandan to feature in the NWSL, following Shadia Nankya, who joined Washington Spirit before being loaned to Dallas Trinity.
