
Uganda’s She Cranes advanced to the semifinals of the Africa Netball Championship unbeaten after winning their final group game
The She Cranes beat Namibia 47–39 on Thursday evening at the Griffin Sayenda Sports Complex in Lilongwe.
As was against Zimbabwe, the She Cranes played with a high tempo to start the game, circulating the ball faster through their renowned short passes and were relentless in their defensive coverage.
At the end of the opening quarter, the She Cranes led 14–5, and by halftime, the Ugandans commanded a 15-goal (28–13) cushion.
Namibia rose to the occasion in the third quarter, scoring 15 goals as the Ugandans slightly switched off on either side of the court after changes that saw Norah Lunkuse, Specioza Namukose, Farida Kadondi, and Lillian Ajio come on for Lillian Achola, Racheal Nanyonga, Shaffie Nalwanja, and Christine Nakito, respectively.
However, remained firmly in control with a 37-28 lead before sealing an 8-goal win despite many unforced errors.
