The UPDF Engineering brigade on Monday safely picked a rusted unexploded Ordinance.

The rusted grenade was discovered among scrap metals from upper railway quarters in Bar-dege-Layibi division in Gulu City.

The Bar-dege-Layibi division deputy RCC, Amir Kamba confirms this report.

Amir adds that the Community informed them that a certain Scrap dealer had picked a suspected rusted mortar bomb about 60mm and taken it. 

Amir further urges all scrap dealers and the public are called upon to report any suspicious rusted & rounded metal of about 60mm to nearby authorities.

A number of unexploded ordinances left during the LRA insurgences have killed and injured many people across Northern Uganda.
