Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) is hosting 30 cultural leaders and staffs from the Acholi Cultural Institution “Kerkwaro Acholi” on a familiarization visit to Uganda’s oil and gas operational areas to gain first-hand insight into the country’s petroleum developments and progress towards first oil.
Okello-Okuna, the Spokesperson of Ker-Kwaro Acholi says the delegation is touring key sites including Pump Station 1 in Nyamasoga under the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP), Kabalega Industrial Park, Kabalega International Airport in Hoima, and the Kingfisher Development Area.
The three days’ visit started will began on Sunday and ends today.
Okuna says the familiarization trip aims to enhance their understanding of regional developments and explore potential replication strategies in the Acholi sub-region, focusing on royalties, development, and corporate social responsibility.
