Unyama Sub County residents mobilizes resources to rehabilitate a bridge

Residents of Unyama Sub County in Gulu district are mobilizing resources to rehabilitate a bridge that connects the sub county to Paicho Sub County and parts of Omoro district.

Reports say that the bridge which is on Opok-Ogul road has not received any major rehabilitation works for a long time putting lives of road users at risk.

Yesterday, a motorcyclist and his passenger sustained injuries after they fell off the bridge into the water.

Justin Kidega, the L.CIII Chairman Unyama Sub County confirms the report saying heavy rains washed away the marram and some parts of the culvert.

He however says that the community recently sat and started contributing resources to repair the bridge adding that work will start as soon as they secure cement and hard core.

Kidega has now called on Gulu city, Gulu district and Omoro district to join efforts in working on the road to ease access to social services.
