Lango Diocese to Host Janani Luwum Memorial Lectures on February 14

The Diocese of Lango is set to host the St Janani Luwum Memorial Public Lectures on February 14, 2026, at the defunct Canon Lawrence Primary Teachers College, now the All Saints University campus.

Rev. Capt Patrick Benson Ogwang, Director of Mission and Evangelism, Diocese of Lango, announces that the event aims to inspire young people to emulate the life of St Janani Luwum, a Ugandan Anglican martyr.

The guest speakers for the event will be RT Rev. Ashely Null, the Anglican Bishop in charge of North Africa, and Dr. Ambassador. Olara Otunu.

He reveals that after the event then they will all head to Wii Gweng village in Mucwini Sub-county Kitgum district where the main celebration will be held two days later.

RT Rev Wilson Kitara, the Bishop of the Diocese of Kitgum, reveals that there will be representation from the Diocese of Kitgum as the host of St Janani Luwum Memorial day.

He notes that the St Janani Luwum Memorial Public Lectures promise to be an inspiring event, and the Diocese of Lango is encouraging all to attend.
